If you're worried about bugs, earthships probably aren't for your temperament :) Seriously
though, bugs have not been reported to be an appreciable problem in earthships. The highest
concentration of bugs will usually occur in the planters along
the greenhouse, but since the planters usually encourage tremendous health and vitality
in the plants that live there, bugs usually exist at tolerable levels and are seldom cause
for alarm. They play a role in your ecosystem too. Certain common bugs such as aphids and
other common insects have been successfully controlled or dispelled by natural means, such as
spraying the plants with water enriched with tobacco or with water clouded with bar soap.
