Certain materials that make their way to the planters can definitley cause harm
to the plants in your personal ecosystem. Earthship occupants need to employ a
healthy dose of common sense in determining what is acceptable or unacceptable to
deposit into the ecosystem. Many traditional soaps are perfectly fine for plants and
even a source of health. Anti-bacterial soaps may be more questionable, and certainly
anything toxic to humans should be handled in another way. Living in an earthship
will require a review of your most commonly-used products and attention to any
new products being considered for use in the dwelling.
